World Red Cross Day



World Red Cross Day

The Millennium School, Mohali celebrated the ‘World Red Cross Day’ on May 8, 2014 by organizing various events.  The students were taught about the importance of understanding human sufferings and also promoting humanitarian activities. Students participated in various events like coloring the ‘Red Cross Emblem’, making the ‘First Aid Box’ and activities on how to provide first aid. A special assembly was conducted by the students on this day giving information about the ‘International Red Cross Day’ and about its fundamental principles. The objective behind celebrating this event was to bring awareness amongst the students about the need of protecting human lives against natural disasters.
Our school also participated in an Inter School ‘Bulletin Board Contest’ organized by the ‘Blood Bank Society, Chandigarh’. The theme of this competition was ‘Eradication of Thalassemia’. Our School stood third in the tricity.
A creative writing activity was also held on the occasion of World Red Cross Day.
